Who will win this World Cup? New York Mayor Zohrab Mamdani has also followed suit. He also made a prediction, telling who will win this World Cup.

He said that Morocco will win the 2026 World Cup. According to his prediction, the North African country will make history by defeating France in the final.

In an interview on the lawn of City Hall, Mamdani admitted that he did not have much time to research the possible winners of the World Cup. However, his love for football is quite strong.

His relationship with African football is also quite deep. In a prediction about the possible results of the 2026 World Cup, he showed that Morocco will defeat France in the final and become the world champion for the first time. While it was an unexpected result for most analysts, Mamdani said, “The heart goes where it wants.”

If his prediction comes true, it would be the first World Cup title and first World Cup final victory for an African nation.

Mamdani’s prediction includes a few other surprises. He thinks Haiti will advance to the last 32. Brazil will be eliminated by Japan in the same round. The United States will also reach the quarterfinals, where they will be stopped by England.

Morocco became the first African team to reach the semifinals at the World Cup in Qatar four years ago. Mamdani, then a member of the New York State Assembly, celebrated with the local Moroccan community after Morocco’s quarterfinal victory.

Morocco, currently ranked seventh in the FIFA rankings, is entering the World Cup with big dreams. Their first match is against Brazil at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on June 13.

Mamdani is also optimistic about the United States' chances. He predicts that the United States will top Group D and beat Canada and Belgium in the knockout stages, although they will lose to England in the quarterfinals.

Ugandan-born Mamdani said that his experience of going to South Africa to watch the World Cup in 2010 deepened his love of football.

This time, his prediction shows that Ghana will advance from the group stage to the knockout stages, but will be eliminated in the last 32 by Colombia.
